Moses responded to the people, ‘Don’t be afraid, for God has come to test you, so that you will fear him and will not  sin.’


Humility, the fear of the  Lord, results in wealth, honour, and life.


If you are wise, you are wise for your own benefit; if you mock, you alone will bear the consequences.’


Tell the righteous that it will go well for them, for they will eat the fruit of their labour.


I will give them integrity of heart  and action  so that they will fear me always, for their good and for the good of their descendants after them.


But seek first the kingdom of God   , and his righteousness,   and all these things will be provided for you.


‘You’ve answered correctly,’ he told him. ‘Do this and you will live.’


since Moses writes about the righteousness that is from the law: The one who does these things will live by them.   ,


‘Now, Israel, listen to the statutes and ordinances  I am teaching you to follow, so that you may live,  enter, and take possession of the land the Lord, the God of your ancestors,  is giving you.


But you who have remained faithful  to the Lord your God are all alive today.


Do this so that you may fear  the Lord your God  all the days of your life  by keeping all his statutes and commands I am giving you, your son, and your grandson, and so that you may have a long life.


but he brought us from there in order to lead us in and give us the land that he swore to our ancestors.


‘Carefully follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and increase, and may enter and take possession of the land  the Lord swore to your ancestors.


He humbled you by letting you go hungry; then he gave you manna to eat, which you and your ancestors had not known, so that you might learn that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
