And he said, ‘I heard you  in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.’


All the people witnessed  the thunder and lightning, the sound of the ram’s horn, and the mountain surrounded by smoke. When the people saw it  they trembled and stood at a distance.


‘You speak to us, and we will listen,’ they said to Moses, ‘but don’t let God speak to us, or we will die.’


For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse,  because it is written,  Everyone who does not do everything written in the book of the law is cursed.   ,


This is what you requested from the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said, “Let us not continue to hear the voice of the Lord our God or see this great fire any longer, so that we will not die! ”


Then the Lord said to me, “They have spoken well.


He said: The Lord came from Sinai and appeared to them from Seir; he shone on them from Mount Paran and came with ten thousand holy ones, with lightning  from his right hand  for them.


You said, “Look, the Lord our God has shown us his glory and greatness, and we have heard his voice from the fire. Today we have seen that God speaks with a person, yet he still lives.


to the blast of a trumpet, and the sound of words. Those who heard it begged that not another word be spoken to them,


for our God is a consuming fire.
