‘Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader  of my people, “This is what the Lord God of your ancestor David says: I have heard your prayer;  I have seen your tears. Look, I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the Lord’s temple.


When the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes  and asked, ‘Am I God,  killing and giving life, that this man expects me to cure a man of his skin disease? Recognise  that he is only picking a fight with me.’


You,  Lord, are the only God.  , You created the heavens, the highest heavens with all their stars, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to all of them, and all the stars of heaven worship you.


‘Yet you concealed these thoughts in your heart; I know that this was your hidden plan:


even though you know that I am not wicked and that there is no one who can rescue from your power?


For he wounds but he also bandages; he strikes, but his hands also heal.


He said, ‘If you will carefully obey the Lord your God, do what is right in his sight, pay attention to his commands, and keep all his statutes, I will not inflict any illnesses on you that I inflicted on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.’


‘Put your hand back inside your cloak,’ he said. So he put his hand back inside his cloak, and when he took it out, it had again become like the rest of his skin.


a time to kill and a time to heal; a time to tear down and a time to build;


The Lord will strike Egypt, striking and healing. Then they will turn to the Lord, and he will be receptive to their prayers and heal them.


The moonlight will be as bright as the sunlight, and the sunlight will be seven times brighter   #– #like the light of seven days #– #on the day  that the Lord bandages his people’s injuries and heals the wounds he inflicted.


Who has performed and done this, calling the generations from the beginning? I am the Lord, the first and with the last   #– #I am he.’


‘You are my witnesses’   – this is the  Lord’s declaration – ‘and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. No god was formed before me, and there will be none after me.


I alone declared, saved, and proclaimed – and not some foreign god  among you. So you are my witnesses’ – this is the  Lord’s declaration – ‘and  I am God.


Also, from today on I am he alone, and none can rescue from my power. I act, and who can reverse it? ’


For this is what the  Lord  says – the Creator of the heavens, the God who formed the earth and made it, the one who established it (he did not create it to be a wasteland, but formed it to be inhabited)   – he says, ‘I am the Lord, and there is no other.


Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth. For I am God, and there is no other.


I am the Lord, and there is no other; there is no God but me. I will strengthen  you, though you do not know me,


I will be the same until your old age, and I will bear you up when you turn grey. I have made you, and I will carry you; I will bear and rescue you.


‘Listen to me, Jacob, and Israel, the one called by me: I am he; I am the first, I am also the last.


Therefore, prophesy and say to them, “This is what the Lord God says: I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them,  my people, and lead you into the land of Israel.


Then he said to me, ‘Son of man, can these bones live? ’ I replied, ‘Lord God, only you know.’


For I am like a lion to Ephraim and like a young lion to the house of Judah. Yes, I will tear them to pieces and depart. I will carry them off, and no one can rescue them.


Come, let’s return to the  Lord. For he has torn us, and he will heal us; he has wounded us, and he will bind up our wounds.


Then the remnant of Jacob will be among the nations, among many peoples, like a lion among animals of the forest, like a young lion among flocks of sheep, which tramples  and tears  as it passes through, and there is no one to rescue them.


Therefore I told you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I am he, you will die in your sins.’


The Lord alone led him, with no help from a foreign god.


You were shown these things so that you would know that the Lord is God; there is no other besides him.


Know that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps his gracious covenant loyalty for a thousand generations with those who love him and keep his commands.


you will roll them up like a cloak, and they will be changed like clothing. But you are the same, and your years will never end.   ,


saying, ‘Write   on a scroll   what you see and send it to the seven churches: Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.’


‘Write to the angel of the church in Smyrna: Thus says the First and the Last,   the one who was dead and came to life:


The Lord brings death and gives life; he sends some down to Sheol, and he raises others up.
