Haman told his wife Zeresh and all his friends  everything that had happened. His advisers and his wife Zeresh said to him, ‘Since Mordecai is Jewish, and you have begun to fall before him, you won’t overcome him, because your downfall is certain.’


Keep my commands and live, and guard my instructions as you would the pupil of your eye.


Who is this  coming up from the wilderness, leaning on the one she loves? I awakened you under the apricot tree. There your mother conceived you; there she conceived and gave you birth.


In all their suffering, he suffered,  , and the angel of his presence saved them. He redeemed them because of his love and compassion; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of the past.


Just as underwear clings to one’s waist, so I fastened the whole house of Israel and of Judah to me’   #– #this is the Lord’s declaration #– #‘so that they might be my people for my fame, praise, and glory,  but they would not obey.


Have you not brought this on yourself by abandoning the  Lord your God while he was leading you along the way?


They stopped asking, ‘Where is the  Lord who brought us from the land of Egypt, who led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and ravines, through a land of drought and darkness, a land no one travelled through and where no one lived? ’


No one cared enough about you to do even one of these things out of compassion for you. But you were thrown out into the open field because you were despised on the day you were born.


Just as I entered into judgement with your ancestors in the wilderness of the land of Egypt,  so I will enter into judgement with you. This is the declaration of the Lord God.


It was I who taught Ephraim to walk, taking them  by the hand,  , but they never knew that I healed them.


I knew  you in the wilderness, in the land of drought.


The Lord will take possession of Judah as his portion in the Holy Land, and he will once again choose Jerusalem.

And you saw in the wilderness how the Lord your God carried you as a man carries his son all along the way you travelled until you reached this place.


He let you hear his voice from heaven to instruct you.  He showed you his great fire on earth, and you heard his words from the fire.
