1 ‘Now  if you faithfully obey the Lord your God  and are careful to follow all his commands I am giving you today,  the Lord your God will put you far above all the nations of the earth.

Then David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel and that his kingdom had been exalted for the sake of his people Israel.


He said, ‘If you will carefully obey the Lord your God, do what is right in his sight, pay attention to his commands, and keep all his statutes, I will not inflict any illnesses on you that I inflicted on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.’


But if you will carefully obey him and do everything I say, then I will be an enemy  to your enemies and a foe to your foes.


Serve the Lord your God, and he  will bless your bread and your water. I will remove illnesses from you.


If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land.


Tell the righteous that it will go well for them, for they will eat the fruit of their labour.


which I commanded your ancestors when I brought them out of the land of Egypt,  out of the iron furnace.’  I declared, ‘Obey me, and do everything that I command you, and you will be my people, and I will be your God,’


If they will diligently learn the ways of my people   #– #to swear by my name, “As the Lord lives,” just as they taught my people to swear by Baal #– #they will be built up among my people.


‘ “However, if you listen to me #– #this is the Lord’s declaration #– #and do not bring loads through the gates of this city on the Sabbath day, but keep the Sabbath day holy and do no work on it,


Both were righteous in God’s sight,  living blamelessly  according to all the commands and requirements of the Lord.


He said, ‘Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God   and keep it.’


He told them, ‘Whoever welcomes   this little child in my name welcomes me. And whoever welcomes me welcomes him who sent me.   For whoever is least among you #– #this one is great.’


You are my friends if you do what I command you.


eternal life  to those who by persistence in doing good  seek glory, honour,  and immortality;


For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse,  because it is written,  Everyone who does not do everything written in the book of the law is cursed.   ,


‘If you carefully obey my commands I am giving you today, to love the Lord your God and worship him with all your heart and all your soul,


there will be a blessing, if you obey the commands of the Lord your God I am giving you today,


if only you obey the Lord your God and are careful to follow every one of these commands I am giving you today.


And today the Lord has affirmed that you are his own possession as he promised you, that you are to keep all his commands,


that he will elevate you to praise, fame, and glory above all the nations he has made, and that you will be a holy people  to the Lord your God as he promised.’


The Lord will make you the head and not the tail;  you will only move upwards and never downwards if you listen to the Lord your God’s commands I am giving you today and are careful to follow them.
