19 ‘When you reap the harvest in your field, and you forget a sheaf in the field, do not go back to get it. It is to be left for the resident foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

So the Lord blessed the last part of Job’s life more than the first. He owned fourteen thousand sheep and goats, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys.


The one who despises his neighbour sins, but whoever shows kindness to the poor will be happy.


Kindness to the poor is a loan to the  Lord, and he will give a reward to the lender.  ,


But a noble person plans noble things; he stands up for noble causes.


When you reap the harvest of your land, you are not to reap all the way to the edge of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and the resident foreigner;  I am the Lord your God.’


But love your enemies, do what is good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High.   For he is gracious to the ungrateful and evil.


Give, and it will be given to you; a good measure #– #pressed down, shaken together, and running over #– #will be poured into your lap.   For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.’


Then the Levite, who has no portion or inheritance among you, the resident foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow within your city gates may come, eat, and be satisfied.  And the Lord your God will bless you in all the work of your hands that you do.


Give to him, and don’t have a stingy heart  when you give, and because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you do.


Remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and the Lord your God redeemed  you from there. Therefore I am commanding you to do this.


Then you will say in the presence of the Lord your God: I have taken the consecrated portion out of my house; I have also given it to the Levites, resident foreigners, fatherless children, and widows, according to all the commands you gave me. I have not violated or forgotten your commands.


Pull out some stalks from the bundles for her and leave them for her to gather. Don’t rebuke her.’
