The birth of Jesus Christ came about in this way: After his mother Mary had been engaged  to Joseph, it was discovered before they came together that she was pregnant from the Holy Spirit.


It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures  all things.


Do nothing to the young woman, because she is not guilty of an offence deserving death. This case is just like one in which a man attacks his neighbour and murders him.


If a man encounters a young woman, a virgin who is not engaged, takes hold of her and rapes her, and they are discovered,
