And who is like your people Israel? God came to one nation on earth in order to redeem a people for himself, to make a name for himself, and to perform for them  great and awesome acts,  driving out nations and their gods before your people you redeemed for yourself from Egypt.


I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the place of slavery.


Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness, you who seek the  Lord: Look to the rock from which you were cut, and to the quarry from which you were dug.


‘However, look, the days are coming’   #– #the Lord’s declaration #– #‘when it will no longer be said, “As the Lord lives who brought the Israelites from the land of Egypt,”


In him we have redemption  through his blood, the forgiveness  of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace


At that time you were without Christ, excluded from the citizenship of Israel, and foreigners to the covenants of promise,  without hope  and without God in the world.


And be kind  and compassionate  to one another, forgiving  one another, just as God also forgave you  in Christ.


Give generously to him from your flock, your threshing-floor, and your winepress. You are to give him whatever the Lord your God has blessed you with.


But if your slave says to you, “I don’t want to leave you,” because he loves you and your family, and is well off with you,


Remember that you were slaves in Egypt; carefully follow these statutes.


He gave himself for us  to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for himself a people for his own possession,  eager to do good works.


This is how we have come to know love: He laid down his life  for us.  We should also lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
