7 ‘After this, while I was watching in the night visions, suddenly a fourth beast  appeared, frightening and dreadful, and incredibly strong, with large iron teeth. It devoured and crushed, and it trampled with its feet whatever was left. It was different from all the beasts before it, and it had ten horns.

I pulverise them like dust of the earth; I crush them and trample them like mud in the streets.


Who can open his jaws, surrounded by those terrifying teeth?


In visions of God  he took me to the land of Israel and set me down on a very high mountain.  On its southern slope was a structure resembling a city.


The mystery was then revealed to Daniel in a vision  at night, and Daniel praised the God of the heavens


I continued watching in the night visions, and suddenly one like a son of man was coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was escorted before him.


Daniel said, ‘In my vision at night I was watching, and suddenly the four winds of heaven  stirred up the great sea.


It grew as high as the heavenly army, made some of the army and some of the stars  fall to the earth,  and trampled them.


The four horns that took the place of the broken horn represent four kingdoms. They will rise from that nation, but without its power.


I looked up and saw a man with a measuring line in his hand.


Then another sign  appeared in heaven: There was a great fiery red dragon  having seven heads and ten horns,  and on its heads were seven crowns.


And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea.  It had ten horns and seven heads. On its horns were ten crowns,  , and on its heads were blasphemous names.  ,


The ten horns you saw are ten kings  who have not yet received a kingdom, but they will receive authority as kings with the beast for one hour.


Then the angel said to me, ‘Why are you astonished? I will explain to you the mystery of the woman and of the beast, with the seven heads and the ten horns, that carries her.


The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to come up from the abyss  and go to destruction.  Those who live on the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world  will be astonished when they see the beast that was, and is not, and is to come.
