Is anything impossible for the Lord?  At the appointed time I will come back to you, and in about a year she will have a son.’


Seek the  Lord and his strength; seek his face always.


Oh, Lord God! You yourself made the heavens and earth  by your great power  and with your outstretched arm. Nothing is too difficult for you!


Now if you’re ready, when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, drum, and every kind of music, fall down and worship the statue I made. But if you don’t worship it, you will immediately be thrown into a furnace of blazing fire #– #and who is the god who can rescue you from my power? ’


If the God we serve exists,  then he can rescue  us from the furnace of blazing fire, and he can  rescue us from the power of you, the king.


So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions’ den.  The king said to Daniel, ‘May your God, whom you continually serve,  rescue you! ’


At the first light of dawn the king got up and hurried to the lions’ den.


I issue a decree  that in all my royal dominion, people must tremble in fear before the God of Daniel: For he is the living God, and he endures for ever; his kingdom will never be destroyed, and his dominion has no end.


He rescues and delivers; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth, for he has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.’


But you must return to your God. Maintain love and justice, and always put your hope in God.


The Lord answered Moses, ‘Is the Lord’s arm weak?  , Now you will see whether or not what I have promised will happen to you.’


For nothing will be impossible with God.’


Now he told them a parable on the need for them to pray  always and not give up.


But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.’


eternal life  to those who by persistence in doing good  seek glory, honour,  and immortality;


He has delivered  us from such a terrible death,  and he will deliver us. We have put our hope in him that he will deliver us again,


Devote yourselves  to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving.


and that is why I suffer  these things. But I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to guard what has been entrusted to me  , until that day.


Therefore, he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, since he always lives to intercede  for them.


But the one who looks intently into the perfect law of freedom and perseveres in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer who works #– #this person will be blessed in what he does.


Now to him  who is able to protect you from stumbling  and to make you stand in the presence of his glory, without blemish  and with great joy,
