At that time Jesus said,  ‘I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants.


When he had gone out to the gateway, another woman saw him and told those who were there, ‘This man was with Jesus the Nazarene! ’


After a little while those standing there approached and said to Peter, ‘You really are one of them, since even your accent  gives you away.’


Jesus sent Peter and John,  saying, ‘Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.’


When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple he loved  standing there, he said to his mother, ‘Woman, here is your son.’


Then the Jews were amazed and said, ‘How is this man so learned,  since he hasn’t been trained? ’


But this crowd, which doesn’t know the law, is accursed.’


And since they saw the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to say in opposition.


Peter and John answered them, ‘Whether it’s right in the sight of God for us to listen to you rather than to God, you decide;


And now, Lord, consider their threats, and grant that your servants may speak your word with all boldness,


When they had prayed, the place where they were assembled was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God boldly.


Barnabas, however, took him and brought him to the apostles and explained to them how Saul had seen the Lord on the road and that the Lord had talked to him, and how in Damascus he had spoken boldly  in the name of Jesus.


Saul was coming and going with them in Jerusalem, speaking boldly in the name of the Lord.


Instead, God has chosen  what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong.


The secrets of his heart will be revealed, and as a result he will fall face down and worship God, proclaiming, ‘God is really among you.’


Since, then, we have such a hope,  we act with great boldness.
