a time to search and a time to count as lost; a time to keep and a time to throw away;


The sailors were afraid, and each cried out to his god.  They threw the ship’s cargo into the sea to lighten the load.  Meanwhile, Jonah had gone down to the lowest part of the vessel and had stretched out and fallen into a deep sleep.


Because we were being severely battered by the storm, they began to jettison the cargo the next day.


For many days neither sun nor stars appeared, and the severe storm kept raging. Finally all hope was fading that we would be saved.
