‘You are blessed when they insult you and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of me.


There was one named Barabbas, who was in prison with rebels who had committed murder  during the rebellion.


(He had been thrown into prison for a rebellion that had taken place in the city, and for murder.)


when we are slandered, we respond graciously. Even now, we are like the scum of the earth, like everyone’s rubbish.
