Then Joseph threw his arms round his brother Benjamin and wept, and Benjamin wept on his shoulder.


Joseph hitched the horses to his chariot and went up to Goshen to meet his father Israel. Joseph presented himself to him, threw his arms round him, and wept for a long time.


David was climbing the slope of the Mount of Olives,  weeping as he ascended. His head was covered,  and he was walking barefoot.  All of the people with him covered their heads and went up, weeping as they ascended.


Elisha left the oxen, ran to follow Elijah, and said, ‘Please let me kiss my father and mother, and then I will follow you.’ ‘Go on back,’ he replied, ‘for what have I done to you? ’


‘Please, Lord, remember  how I have walked before you faithfully and wholeheartedly and have done what pleases you.’  , And Hezekiah wept bitterly.


While Ezra prayed and confessed, weeping and falling face down  before the house of God, an extremely large assembly of Israelite men, women, and children gathered around him. The people also wept bitterly.


When they looked from a distance, they could barely recognise him. They wept aloud,  and each man tore his robe and threw dust into the air and on his head.


So he got up and went to his father. But while the son was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion.   He ran, threw his arms round his neck, and kissed   him.

Remembering your tears, I long to see you so that I may be filled with joy.


He will wipe away every tear from their eyes.  Death will be no more;  grief, crying, and pain will be no more,  because the previous things  have passed away.


For the Lamb who is at the centre of the throne will shepherd them; he will guide them to springs of the waters of life, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.


When the servant had gone, David got up from the south side of the stone Ezel, fell face down to the ground, and paid homage three times.  Then he and Jonathan kissed each other and wept with each other, though David wept more.
