When they persecute you in one town, flee to another.   For truly I tell you, you will not have gone through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.


In those days Peter stood up among the brothers and sisters   #– #the number of people who were together was about a hundred twenty #– #and said,


Then the apostles and the elders, with the whole church, decided to select men who were among them and to send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas: Judas, called Barsabbas, and Silas,  both leading men among the brothers.


Paul went on to Derbe and Lystra, where there was a disciple named Timothy,  the son of a believing Jewish woman,  but his father was a Greek.


As soon as it was night, the brothers and sisters sent Paul and Silas away to Berea.  Upon arrival, they went into the synagogue of the Jews.


Those who escorted Paul brought him as far as Athens, and after receiving instructions for Silas and Timothy to come to him as quickly as possible, they departed.


Some of them were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, including a large number of God-fearing Greeks, as well as a number of the leading women.


When they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some of the brothers before the city officials, shouting, ‘These men who have turned the world upside down have come here too,


When Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul devoted himself to preaching the word  and testified to the Jews that Jesus is the Messiah.


After sending to Macedonia two of those who assisted him, Timothy and Erastus,  he himself stayed in Asia for a while.


and stayed for three months. The Jews plotted against him when he was about to set sail for Syria, and so he decided to go back through Macedonia.


but his disciples took him by night and lowered him in a large basket through an opening in the wall.


When the brothers found out, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.


As I urged you when I went to Macedonia,  remain in Ephesus  so that you may instruct certain people  not to teach false doctrine


The reason I left you in Crete  was to set right what was left undone and, as I directed you, to appoint elders  in every town.


‘Go to the hill country so that the men pursuing you won’t find you,’ she said to them. ‘Hide there for three days until they return; afterwards, go on your way.’
