However, you must not eat meat with its lifeblood in it.


Since the life of every creature is its blood, I have told the Israelites: You are not to eat the blood of any creature,  because the life of every creature is its blood; whoever eats it must be cut off.


Another said, ‘I will follow you, Lord, but first let me go and say goodbye to those at my house.’


but instead we should write to them to abstain from things polluted by idols, from sexual immorality,  from eating anything that has been strangled, and from blood.


but he said farewell and added,  ‘I’ll come back to you again, if God wills.’  Then he set sail from Ephesus.


With regard to the Gentiles who have believed, we have written a letter containing our decision that  they should keep themselves from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from what is strangled, and from sexual immorality.’


When I was informed that there was a plot against the man,  , I sent him to you straight away. I also ordered his accusers  to state their case against him in your presence.


When I was present with you and in need, I did not burden anyone, since the brothers who came from Macedonia  supplied my needs.  I have kept myself, and will keep myself, from burdening you in any way.


Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice.  Become mature, be encouraged,  be of the same mind,  be at peace,  and the God of love  and peace will be with you.


but you must not eat the blood; pour it on the ground like water.


Don’t be too quick to appoint  , anyone as an elder, and don’t share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.


Pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is this: to look after orphans and widows  in their distress and to keep oneself unstained from the world.


Little children, guard yourselves from idols.


Now to him  who is able to protect you from stumbling  and to make you stand in the presence of his glory, without blemish  and with great joy,


But I have a few things against you. You have some there who hold to the teaching of Balaam,   who taught Balak to place a stumbling block   in front of the Israelites: to eat meat sacrificed to idols   and to commit sexual immorality.


But I have this against you: You tolerate the woman Jezebel,   who calls herself a prophetess and teaches and deceives my servants to commit sexual immorality and to eat meat sacrificed to idols.
