The Spirit of the  Lord spoke through me, his word was on my tongue.


You sent your good Spirit  to instruct them. You did not withhold your manna  from their mouths, and you gave them water for their thirst.


Discipline is harsh for the one who leaves the path; the one who hates correction will die.


One who  listens to life-giving rebukes will be at home among the wise.


For a command is a lamp, teaching is a light, and corrective discipline is the way to life.


House of Jacob, should it be asked, ‘Is the Spirit of the  Lord  impatient? Are these the things he does? ’ Don’t my words bring good to the one who walks uprightly?


She has not obeyed; she has not accepted discipline. She has not trusted  in the Lord; she has not drawn near to her God.


‘Therefore,’ he said to them, ‘every teacher of the law   who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom treasures new and old.’


Jesus said to them, ‘Have you never read in the Scriptures: The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is what the Lord has done and it is wonderful in our eyes?   ,


He asked them, ‘How is it then that David, inspired by the Spirit,   calls him “Lord”   :


How, then, would the Scriptures be fulfilled   that say it must happen this way? ’


But all this has happened so that the writings of the prophets   would be fulfilled.’ Then all the disciples  deserted him and ran away.


Jesus spoke to them, ‘Isn’t this the reason why you’re mistaken: you don’t know the Scriptures   or the power   of God?


David   himself says by the Holy Spirit: The Lord   declared to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet.”   ,

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: Today, if you hear his voice,


For the word of God is living and effective  and sharper than any double-edged sword,  penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
