So David sent someone to enquire about her, and he said, ‘Isn’t this Bathsheba,  daughter of Eliam and wife of Uriah  the Hethite? ’


Why then have you despised the Lord’s command by doing what I consider  evil?  You struck down Uriah  the Hethite with the sword and took his wife as your own wife #– #you murdered him with the Ammonite’s sword.


For David did what was right in the Lord’s sight, and he did not turn aside from anything he had commanded him all the days of his life,  except in the matter of Uriah  the Hethite.


Uriah the Hethite, Zabad son of Ahlai,


and Jesse fathered King David. David fathered Solomon  by Uriah’s wife,


Then David asked Ahimelech the Hethite  and Joab’s brother Abishai  son of Zeruiah, ‘Who will go with me into the camp  to Saul? ’ ‘I’ll go with you,’ answered Abishai.
