When he saw them, Jacob said, ‘This is God’s camp.’ So he called that place Mahanaim.  ,


Since the Lord had decreed  that Ahithophel’s good advice be undermined  in order to bring about Absalom’s ruin, Absalom and all the men of Israel said, ‘The advice of Hushai the Archite is better than Ahithophel’s advice.’


Abner son of Ner, commander of Saul’s army,  took Saul’s son Ish-bosheth  , and moved him to Mahanaim.


On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to the Israelites, Joshua spoke to the Lord in the presence of Israel: ‘Sun,  stand still over Gibeon, and moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.’


So Adoni-zedek and his people were  greatly alarmed because Gibeon was a large city like one of the royal cities;  it was larger than Ai, and all its men were warriors.


‘Come up and help me. We will attack Gibeon, because they have made peace with Joshua and the Israelites.’


When the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done to Jericho and Ai,


If he wins in a fight against me and kills me, we will be your servants. But if I win against him and kill him, then you will be our servants and serve us.’
