I grieve for you, Jonathan, my brother. You were such a friend to me. Your love for me was more wondrous than the love of women.


They forded the Jordan to bring the king’s household across and do whatever the king desired. When Shimei son of Gera crossed the Jordan, he fell face down before the king


The king said to him, ‘Why keep on speaking about these matters of yours? I hereby declare: you and Ziba are to divide the land.’


Barzillai the Gileadite  had come down from Rogelim and accompanied the king to the River Jordan to see him off at the Jordan.


Then the king summoned Saul’s attendant Ziba and said to him, ‘I have given to your master’s grandson all that belonged to Saul and his family.


But I consider my life of no value to myself; my purpose is to finish my course  and the ministry  I received from the Lord Jesus,  to testify to the gospel of God’s grace.


My eager expectation and hope  is that I will not be ashamed about anything, but that now as always, with all courage, Christ will be highly honoured in my body, whether by life  or by death.
