So if they tell you, “See, he’s in the wilderness! ” don’t go out; or, “See, he’s in the storerooms! ” do not believe it.


‘Then all the virgins got up and trimmed their lamps.


Blessed is that servant whom the master finds doing his job when he comes.


Now, Master, you can dismiss your servant in peace, as you promised.


He will also strengthen you to the end,  so that you will be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.


Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work,  because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.


so that you may approve the things that are superior  and may be pure  and blameless  in the day of Christ,


so that you may be blameless  and pure,  children of God who are faultless  in a crooked  and perverted  generation,  among whom you shine like stars in the world,


Our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly wait for a Saviour from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.


May he make your hearts blameless  in holiness  before our God and Father at the coming  of our Lord  Jesus with all his saints. Amen.


Now may the God of peace  himself sanctify you completely. And may your whole spirit,  soul, and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming  of our Lord  Jesus Christ.


to keep this command without fault or failure until the appearing  of our Lord  Jesus Christ.


so also Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many,  will appear a second time,  not to bear sin, but  to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.


Pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is this: to look after orphans and widows  in their distress and to keep oneself unstained from the world.


so that the proven character of your faith   #– #more valuable than gold which, though perishable, is refined by fire   #– #may result  in praise, glory, and honour  at the revelation of Jesus Christ.


Dear friends, this is now the second letter  I have written to you; in both letters, I want to stir up your sincere  understanding by way of reminder,


He speaks about these things in all his letters. There are some things hard to understand in them. The untaught and unstable will twist them to their own destruction,  as they also do with the rest of the Scriptures.


And everyone who has this hope  in him purifies himself just as he is pure.
