She said to Elijah, ‘Man of God,  what do you have against me?  Have you come to call attention to my iniquity  so that my son is put to death? ’


As the Lord your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom where my lord has not sent someone to search for you. When they said, “He is not here,” he made that kingdom or nation swear they had not found you.


and took a hundred prophets and hid them, fifty men to a cave, and provided them with food and water when Jezebel  slaughtered the Lord’s prophets.


So Ahab went to eat and drink, but Elijah went up to the summit of Carmel.  He bent down on the ground and put his face between his knees.


So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, ‘May the gods punish me and do so severely  if I don’t make your life like the life of one of them by this time tomorrow! ’


The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, ‘There is still one man who can enquire of the Lord, but I hate him  because he never prophesies good about me,  but only disaster. He is Micaiah son of Imlah.’ ‘The king shouldn’t say that! ’ Jehoshaphat replied.


From there Elisha went to Mount Carmel,  and then he returned to Samaria.


So she came to the man of God at Mount Carmel. When the man of God saw her at a distance, he said to his attendant Gehazi,  ‘Look, there’s the Shunammite woman.

They twisted together a crown of thorns, put it on his head, and placed a staff in his right hand. And they knelt down before him and mocked him: ‘Hail, king of the Jews! ’


Those  who passed by were yelling insults  at  him, shaking their heads,  and saying, ‘Ha! The one who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,


Let the Messiah,  the King  of Israel,  come down now from the cross,  so that we may see and believe.’  Even those who were crucified with him taunted him.


When the disciples James and John saw this, they said, ‘Lord, do you want us to call down fire from heaven to consume them? ’  ,


Others experienced mocking and scourging, as well as bonds and imprisonment.


When they reported to Saul, he sent other agents, and they also began prophesying.  So Saul tried again and sent a third group of agents, and even they began prophesying.
