2 Corinthians 5:13
15 Tagairtí Cros

“The Lord has appointed you priest in place of the priest Jehoiada to be the chief officer  in the temple of the Lord, responsible for every madman  who acts like a prophet. You must confine him in the stocks  and an iron collar.

When his family  heard this, they set out to restrain him, because they said, ‘He’s out of his mind.’

For by the grace  given to me, I tell everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he should think.  Instead, think sensibly, as God has distributed a measure of faith  to each one.

I wish you would put up with a little foolishness  from me. Yes, do put up with me!

I have been a fool; you forced it on me. You ought to have commended me, since I am not in any way inferior to those ‘super-apostles’, even though I am nothing.

For if I want to boast, I wouldn’t be a fool, because I would be telling the truth.  But I will spare you, so that no one can credit me with something beyond what he sees in me or hears from me,

So even though I wrote to you, it was not because of the one who did wrong, or because of the one who was wronged, but in order that your devotion to us might be made plain to you in the sight of God.

Now I rejoice in my sufferings  for you, and I am completing in my flesh what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for his body,  that is, the church.

because our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, in the Holy Spirit,  and with full assurance. You know how we lived among you  for your benefit,

This is why I endure  all things for the elect:  so that they also may obtain salvation, which is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.
