The governors  who preceded me had heavily burdened the people, taking from them food and wine as well as half a kilogram  of silver. Their subordinates also oppressed the people, but because of the fear of God, I didn’t do this.

But I considered it necessary to send you Epaphroditus   #– #my brother, co-worker, and fellow soldier, as well as your messenger and minister to my need   #– #


and we didn’t seek glory  from people, either from you or from others.


For you remember our labour and hardship, brothers and sisters. Working  night and day so that we would not burden any of you, we preached God’s gospel to you.


They were stoned,  , they were sawn in two, they died by the sword, they wandered about in sheepskins, in goatskins,  destitute, afflicted, and mistreated.
