2 Chronicles 34:33 - Christian Standard Bible Anglicised

33 So Josiah removed everything that was detestable from all the lands belonging to the Israelites,  and he required all who were present in Israel to serve the Lord their God. Throughout his reign they did not turn aside from following the Lord, the God of their ancestors.

He made all those present in Jerusalem and Benjamin agree  to it. So all the inhabitants of Jerusalem carried out the covenant of God, the God of their ancestors.


Yet in spite of all this, her treacherous sister Judah didn’t return to me with all her heart   #– #only in pretence.’ This is the Lord’s declaration.


If you return,  Israel – this is the  Lord’s declaration – you will return to me, if you remove your abhorrent idols from my presence and do not waver,


What am I going to do with you, Ephraim? What am I going to do with you, Judah? Your love is like the morning mist and like the early dew that vanishes.


Israel worshipped the Lord throughout Joshua’s lifetime and during the lifetimes of the elders who outlived Joshua  and who had experienced all the works the Lord had done for Israel.
