because they have abandoned me and burned incense to other gods in order to anger me with all the work of their hands. My wrath will be kindled against this place, and it will not be quenched.”


Then Ahaz gathered up the utensils of God’s temple, cut them into pieces,  shut the doors of the Lord’s temple,  and made himself altars on every street corner in Jerusalem.


As for the rest of his deeds  and all his ways, from beginning to end, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel.


He burned incense in Ben Hinnom Valley  and burned his children in  , the fire, imitating the detestable practices of the nations the Lord had dispossessed before the Israelites.


He sacrificed and burned incense on the high places,  on the hills, and under every green tree.


In the year that King Ahaz died,  this pronouncement came:


Your gods are indeed as numerous as your cities, Judah,  and the altars you have set up to Shame  ,  #– #altars to burn incense to Baal #– #as numerous as the streets of Jerusalem.


‘The Lord of Armies who planted you  has decreed disaster against you, because of the disaster  the house of Israel and the house of Judah brought on themselves when they angered me by burning incense to Baal.’


you built yourself a mound and made yourself an elevated place in every square.
