So they went to war against Judah and invaded it. They carried off all the possessions found in the king’s palace and also his sons and wives; not a son was left to him except Jehoahaz,  , his youngest son.


When  Athaliah, Ahaziah’s mother, saw that her son was dead, she proceeded to annihilate all the royal heirs  of the house of Judah.


So when Jehu executed judgement on the house of Ahab,  he found the rulers of Judah and the sons of Ahaziah’s brothers who were serving Ahaziah, and he killed them.


As soon as the kingdom was firmly in his grasp,  he executed his servants who had killed his father the king.


unlike Cain,  who was of the evil one  and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother’s were righteous.


He went to his father’s house in Ophrah and killed his seventy brothers, the sons of Jerubbaal, on top of a large stone. But Jotham, the youngest son of Jerubbaal, survived, because he hid.
