Still, there was no one like Ahab, who devoted himself to do what was evil in the Lord’s sight, because his wife Jezebel incited him.


There was  a lull of three years  without war between Aram and Israel.


The rest of the events of Jehoshaphat’s reign, along with the might he exercised and how he waged war, are written in the Historical Record of Judah’s Kings.


When Athaliah,  Ahaziah’s mother,  saw that her son was dead,  she proceeded to annihilate all the royal heirs.


He walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab had done, for Ahab’s daughter was his wife. He did what was evil in the Lord’s sight.


Jehoshaphat grew stronger and stronger. He built fortresses  and storage cities in Judah


So the Lord established the kingdom in his hand. Then all Judah brought him tribute, and he had riches and honour in abundance.


When the chariot commanders saw Jehoshaphat, they shouted, ‘He must be the king of Israel! ’ So they turned to attack him, but Jehoshaphat cried out  and the Lord helped him. God drew them away from him.


Then Jehu  son of the seer Hanani went out to confront him  and said to King Jehoshaphat, ‘Do you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord?  Because of this, the Lord’s wrath is on you.


After this,  Judah’s King Jehoshaphat made an alliance with Israel’s King Ahaziah, who was guilty of wrongdoing.


He walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab had done,  for Ahab’s daughter was his wife.  He did what was evil in the Lord’s sight,


But seek first the kingdom of God   , and his righteousness,   and all these things will be provided for you.


Do not be yoked together with those who do not believe. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness?  Or what fellowship does light  have with darkness?
