Solomon offered sacrifices there in the Lord’s presence on the bronze altar at the tent of meeting; he offered a thousand burnt offerings on it.


So the Lord routed the Cushites before Asa and before Judah,  and the Cushites fled.


They were gathered in Jerusalem in the third month of the fifteenth year of Asa’s reign.


King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand cattle and one hundred and twenty thousand sheep and goats. In this manner the king and all the people dedicated God’s temple.


So we have presented to the Lord an offering of the gold articles each man found #– #armlets, bracelets, rings, earrings, and necklaces #– #to make atonement for ourselves before the Lord.’


Saul answered, ‘The troops brought them from the Amalekites and spared the best sheep, goats, and cattle in order to offer a sacrifice to the Lord your God,  but the rest we destroyed.’
