5 David answered him, ‘I swear that women are being kept from us, as always when I go out to battle.  The young men’s bodies  are consecrated  even on an ordinary mission, so of course their bodies are consecrated today.’

Then Moses came down from the mountain to the people and consecrated them, and they washed their clothes.


He said to the people, ‘Be prepared by the third day. Do not have sexual relations with women.’


Put the Bread of the Presence  on the table before me at all times.


It belongs to Aaron and his sons, who are to eat it in a holy place, for it is the holiest portion for him from the food offerings to the Lord; this is a permanent rule.’


From the basket of unleavened bread that was before the Lord he took one cake of unleavened bread, one cake of bread made with oil, and one wafer, and placed them on the fat portions and the right thigh.


But the Lord said to him, ‘Go, for this man is my chosen instrument   to take my name to Gentiles,   kings, and Israelites.


Do not deprive  one another #– #except when you agree for a time, to devote yourselves to  prayer. Then come together again; otherwise, Satan may tempt you because of your lack of self-control.


For it is better to suffer  for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.
