1 Samuel 11:11 - Christian Standard Bible Anglicised

11 The next day Saul organised the troops into three divisions.  During the morning watch, they invaded the Ammonite camp and slaughtered them until the heat of the day. There were survivors, but they were so scattered that no two of them were left together.

And Abraham named that place The Lord Will Provide,  so today it is said, ‘It will be provided  on the Lord’s mountain.’


He then sent out the troops, a third under Joab, a third under Joab’s brother Abishai son of Zeruiah, and a third under Ittai of Gath. The king said to the troops, ‘I must also march out with you.’


During the morning watch, the Lord looked down at the Egyptian forces from the pillar of fire  and cloud, and threw the Egyptian forces into confusion.


For you will be judged by the same standard with which you judge others, and you will be measured by the same measure you use.


For judgement is without mercy to the one who has not shown mercy.  Mercy triumphs over judgement.

When Saul assumed the kingship over Israel, he fought against all his enemies in every direction: against Moab, the Ammonites,  Edom, the kings of Zobah,  and the Philistines. Wherever he turned, he caused havoc.
