‘On that day a fountain  will be opened for the house of David and for the residents of Jerusalem, to wash away sin and impurity.


Go, therefore, and make disciples   of   all nations,   baptising   them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,


Whoever believes   and is baptised will be saved,   but whoever does not believe will be condemned.


Simon Peter said to him, ‘Lord, not only my feet, but also my hands and my head.’


He took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds. Straight away he and all his family were baptised.


Peter replied, ‘Repent  and be baptised,  each of you, in the name  of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.


And now, why are you delaying? Get up and be baptised, and wash away your sins,  calling on his name.”


As they were travelling down the road, they came to some water. The eunuch said, ‘Look, there’s water. What would keep me from being baptised? ’


Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who did not sin in the likeness of Adam’s transgression.  He is a type of the Coming One.


For we were all baptised by  one Spirit into one body #– #whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free #– #and we were all given one Spirit to drink.


Now, brothers and sisters,  I have applied these things to myself and Apollos  for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying: ‘Nothing beyond what is written.’ The purpose is that none of you will be arrogant, favouring one person over another.


Indeed, this is our boast: The testimony  of our conscience  is that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially towards you, with godly sincerity and purity, not by human wisdom  but by God’s grace.


So then, dear friends, since we have these promises,  let us cleanse ourselves from every impurity of the flesh and spirit,  bringing holiness to completion  in the fear of God.


For those of you who were baptised into Christ have been clothed with Christ.

Now the goal of our instruction is love  that comes from a pure heart,  a good conscience,  and a sincere faith.

let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water.


He considered God to be able even to raise someone from the dead;  therefore, he received him back, figuratively speaking.


Pray for us, for we are convinced that we have a clear conscience, wanting to conduct ourselves honourably in everything.


how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit  offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our  consciences from dead works so that we can serve the living God?


For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with hands (only a model  of the true one) but into heaven itself, so that he might now appear in the presence of God for us.


Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Because of his great mercy  he has given us new birth  into a living hope  through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead


Yet do this with gentleness and reverence, keeping a clear conscience,  so that when you are accused,  those who disparage your good conduct in Christ will be put to shame.
