He is the one who will build a house for my name,  and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever.


He is the one who will build a house for me,  and I will establish his throne for ever.


Realise now that the Lord has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary. Be strong, and do it.’


Then David said to his son Solomon, ‘Be strong and courageous,  and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He won’t leave you or abandon you  until all the work for the service of the Lord’s house is finished.


He said to me,  “Your son Solomon is the one who is to build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.


but I have built an exalted temple for you, a place for your dwelling for ever.


You will bring them in and plant them on the mountain of your possession; Lord, you have prepared the place for your dwelling; Lord,  your hands have established the sanctuary.


He said to me, ‘Son of man, this is the place of my throne and the place for the soles of my feet,  where I will dwell among the Israelites for ever.  The house of Israel and their kings will no longer defile my holy name by their religious prostitution and by the corpses  , of their kings at their high places.  ,


Now let them remove their prostitution and the corpses  of their kings far from me, and I will dwell among them for ever.


The one who takes an oath by the temple takes an oath by it and by him who dwells   in it.


For we heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs that Moses handed down to us.’


For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with hands (only a model  of the true one) but into heaven itself, so that he might now appear in the presence of God for us.
