1 At that time Solomon assembled the elders  of Israel,  all the tribal heads  and the ancestral leaders of the Israelites before him at Jerusalem in order to bring the ark of the Lord’s covenant from the city of David,  that is Zion.

When they came to Nacon’s threshing-floor, Uzzah reached out to the ark of God and took hold of it because the oxen had stumbled.


Then David rested with his ancestors  and was buried in the city of David.


Then Solomon woke up  and realised it had been a dream.  He went to Jerusalem, stood before the ark of the Lord’s covenant,  and offered burnt offerings and fellowship offerings.  Then he held a feast  for all his servants.


Then David took up residence in the stronghold; therefore, it was called the city of David.


David,  the elders of Israel, and the commanders of thousands went with rejoicing to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the house of Obed-edom.


As the ark of the covenant of the Lord was entering the city of David, Saul’s daughter Michal looked down from the window and saw King David leaping  and dancing, and she despised him in her heart.


David assembled all Israel at Jerusalem  to bring the ark of the Lord to the place he had prepared for it.

Therefore the Lord God said: ‘Look, I have laid a stone  in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; the one who believes will be unshakable.  ,


I am bringing my justice near; it is not far away, and my salvation will not delay. I will put salvation in Zion, my splendour in Israel.


A man from each tribe is to be with you, each one the head of his ancestral family.  ,


So Joshua summoned all Israel, including its elders, leaders, judges, and officers,  and said to them, ‘I am old, advanced in age,


Joshua assembled all the tribes of Israel at Shechem  and summoned Israel’s elders, leaders, judges, and officers, and they presented themselves before God.


For it stands in Scripture: See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and honoured    cornerstone, and the one who believes in him will never be put to shame.   ,
