but the word of the Lord came to me: “You have shed much blood and waged great wars. You are not to build a house for my name because you have shed so much blood on the ground before me.


Then King David rose to his feet and said, ‘Listen to me, my brothers and my people. It was in my heart to build a house as a resting place for the ark of the Lord’s covenant  and as a footstool  for our God. I had made preparations to build,


but God said to me, “You are not to build a house for my name because you are a man of war and have shed blood.”


the food at his table, his servants’ residence, his attendants’ service and their attire, his cupbearers and their attire, and the burnt offerings he offered at the Lord’s temple, it took her breath away.


There were 150 Jews and officials, as well as guests from the surrounding nations at my table.


Each  day, one ox, six choice sheep, and some fowl were prepared for me. An abundance of all kinds of wine was provided every ten days.  But I didn’t demand the food allotted to the governor, because the burden on the people was so heavy.


You will trample the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day I am preparing,’ says the Lord of Armies.


For he must reign  until he puts all his enemies under his feet.


And he subjected everything under his feet   , and appointed him  as head  over everything for the church,
