the food at his table,  his servants’ residence, his attendants’ service and their attire, his cupbearers, and the burnt offerings he offered at the Lord’s temple, it took her breath away.


Solomon ruled all the kingdoms from the River Euphrates to the land of the Philistines and as far as the border of Egypt.  They offered tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.


ten fattened cattle, twenty range cattle, and a hundred sheep and goats, besides deer, gazelles, roebucks, and pen-fed poultry,  ,


and Solomon provided Hiram with four million four hundred thousand litres  of wheat as food for his household and four hundred and forty thousand litres  of oil from crushed olives.  Solomon did this for Hiram year after year.

Each  day, one ox, six choice sheep, and some fowl were prepared for me. An abundance of all kinds of wine was provided every ten days.  But I didn’t demand the food allotted to the governor, because the burden on the people was so heavy.

When good things increase, the ones who consume them multiply; what, then, is the profit to the owner, except to gaze at them with his eyes?


The king assigned them daily provisions from the royal food and from the wine that he drank.  They were to be trained for three years, and at the end of that time they were to attend the king.  ,


He can appoint them for his use as commanders of thousands or commanders of fifties,  to plough his ground and reap his harvest, or to make his weapons of war and the equipment for his chariots.
