And the Lord said to her: Two nations are in your womb; two peoples will come from you and be separated. One people will be stronger than the other, and the elder will serve the younger.


You will live by your sword, and you will serve your brother. But when you rebel, you will break his yoke from your neck.


He placed garrisons throughout Edom, and all the Edomites were subject to David.  The Lord made David victorious wherever he went.


He banished the male cult prostitutes  from the land and removed all of the idols that his ancestors had made.


So the king of Israel, the king of Judah, and the king of Edom  set out. After they had travelled their indirect route for seven days, they had no water for the army or the animals with them.


During Jehoram’s reign, Edom rebelled against Judah’s control and appointed their own king.
