Then each man grabbed his opponent by the head and thrust his sword into his opponent’s side so that they all died together. So this place, which is in Gibeon, is named Field of Blades.


So Asa withdrew all the silver and gold that remained in the treasuries of the Lord’s temple  and the treasuries of the royal palace and gave it to his servants. Then King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad  son of Tabrimmon son of Hezion king of Aram who lived in Damascus,  saying,


The young men of the provincial leaders and the army behind them marched out from the city,


Then the king of Israel marched out and attacked the cavalry and the chariots. He inflicted a severe slaughter on Aram.


So King Sennacherib of Assyria broke camp and left. He returned home and lived in Nineveh.


Again I saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift,  or the battle to the strong,  or bread to the wise, or riches to the discerning, or favour to the skilful; rather, time and chance happen to all of them.


But Ishmael son of Nethaniah escaped from Johanan with eight men and went to the Ammonites.
