10 Because of all this, I am about to bring disaster on the house of Jeroboam: I will wipe out all of Jeroboam’s males, both slave and free,  in Israel; I will sweep away the house of Jeroboam as one sweeps away dung until it is all gone!

This was the sin that caused the house of Jeroboam to be cut off and obliterated from the face of the earth.


When he became king, as soon as he was seated on his throne, Zimri struck down the entire house of Baasha. He did not leave a single male,  , including his kinsmen and his friends.

This is what the Lord says:  “I am about to bring disaster on you and will eradicate your descendants: I will wipe out all of Ahab’s males, both slave and free,  in Israel;


For the Lord saw that the affliction of Israel was very bitter  for both slaves and free people.  There was no one to help Israel.


I will stretch over Jerusalem the measuring line used on Samaria and the mason’s level used on the house of Ahab,  and I will wipe  Jerusalem clean as one wipes a bowl #– #wiping it and turning it upside down.


Jezebel’s corpse will be like manure  on the surface of the ground in the plot of land at Jezreel so that no one will be able to say: This is Jezebel.” ’


he will vanish for ever like his own dung. Those who know  him will ask, ‘Where is he? ’

‘I will make her a swampland and a region for herons,  and I will sweep her away with the broom of destruction.’ This is the declaration of the  Lord of Armies.


Therefore the Lord’s anger burned  against his people. He raised his hand against them and struck them; the mountains quaked, and their corpses were like rubbish in the streets. In all this, his anger has not turned away, and his hand is still raised to strike.


You show faithful love to thousands but lay the fathers’ iniquity on their sons’ laps after them,  great and mighty God  whose name is the Lord of Armies,


They will be exposed  to the sun, the moon, and all the stars in the sky,  which they have loved, served, followed, consulted, and worshipped. Their bones will not be collected and buried but will become like manure on the soil’s surface.


They will destroy the walls of Tyre and demolish her towers. I will scrape the soil from her and turn her into a bare rock.


If a ram’s horn  is blown in a city, aren’t people afraid? If a disaster  occurs in a city, hasn’t the Lord done it?


I will bring distress on mankind, and they will walk like the blind because they have sinned against the  Lord. Their blood will be poured out like dust and their flesh like dung.


‘Look, I am going to rebuke your descendants,  and I will spread animal waste  over your faces, the waste from your festival sacrifices,  and you will be taken away with it.


The Lord will indeed vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants when he sees that their strength is gone and no one is left #– #slave or free.


‘Therefore, this is the declaration of the Lord, the God of Israel: “I did say that your family and your forefather’s family would walk before me for ever.  But now,” this is the Lord’s declaration, “no longer! For those who honour me I will honour,  but those who despise me will be disgraced.


May God punish me  and do so severely  if I let any of his males  survive until morning.’


Otherwise, as surely as the Lord God of Israel lives, who prevented me from harming you, if you had not come quickly to meet me, Nabal wouldn’t have had any males  left by morning light.’
