Please let us go to the Jordan where we can each get a log and can build ourselves a place to live there.’ ‘Go,’ he said.


We will also bring the firstborn of our sons and our livestock, as prescribed by the law, and will bring the firstborn of our herds and flocks to the house of our God,  to the priests who serve in our God’s house.


News about them reached  the church in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas to travel  as far as Antioch.


But the Jews incited the prominent God-fearing women and the leading men of the city. They stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas and expelled them from their district.


Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul, Hermes, because he was the chief speaker.


and since they were of the same occupation, tentmakers by trade,  he stayed with them and worked.


Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus by birth, the one the apostles called Barnabas (which is translated Son of Encouragement),


If anyone wants to argue about this, we have no other  custom, nor do the churches of God.


I robbed other churches by taking pay from them to minister to you.


For you remember our labour and hardship, brothers and sisters. Working  night and day so that we would not burden any of you, we preached God’s gospel to you.
