A man who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favour from the  Lord.

A house and wealth are inherited from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the  Lord.

And you ask, ‘Why? ’ Because even though the Lord has been a witness  between you and the wife of your youth,  you have acted treacherously against her. She was your marriage partner  and your wife by covenant.

But I tell you, everyone who divorces his wife, except in a case of sexual immorality, causes her to commit adultery. And whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Flee  sexual immorality! Every other sin  a person commits is outside the body, but the person who is sexually immoral  sins against his own body.

Now in response to the matters you wrote  about: ‘It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.’

A husband should fulfil his marital duty  to his wife, and likewise a wife to her husband.

But if they do not have self-control,  they should marry, since it is better to marry  than to burn with desire.

In the same way, husbands are to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

To sum up, each one of you is to love his wife as himself, and the wife is to respect her husband.

that each of you knows how to control his own body  in holiness and honour,

They forbid marriage  and demand abstinence  from foods that God created  to be received with gratitude by those who believe and know the truth.

When their fathers or brothers come to us and protest, we will tell them, “Show favour to them, since we did not get enough wives for each of them in the battle. You didn’t actually give the women to them, so  you are not guilty of breaking your oath.” ’
