The Lord said to Paul in a night vision, ‘Don’t be afraid, but keep on speaking and don’t be silent.


And he said, “The God of our ancestors has appointed  you to know his will, to see  the Righteous One,  and to hear the words from his mouth,


and saw him telling me, “Hurry and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not accept your testimony about me.”


‘As  I was travelling and approaching Damascus, about noon an intense light from heaven suddenly flashed around me.


‘I was travelling to Damascus under  these circumstances with authority and a commission from the chief priests.


But get up and stand on your feet. For I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and a witness of what you have seen and will see of me.


Ananias went and entered the house. He placed his hands on him and said, ‘Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road you were travelling, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.’


Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord?
