I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.


‘Son of man, I have made you a watchman over the house of Israel.  When you hear a word from my mouth, give them a warning from me.


Sword, awake against my shepherd, against the man who is my associate – this is the declaration of the  Lord of Armies. Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered; I will turn my hand against the little ones.


The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him,   but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for him if he had not been born.’


For this is my blood of the covenant,   which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.


He said to them, ‘How foolish you are, and how slow   to believe all that the prophets have spoken!


The next day John saw Jesus coming towards him and said, ‘Look, the Lamb of God,  who takes away the sin  of the world!


As usual, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days reasoned with them from the Scriptures,


In this way God fulfilled what he had predicted through all the prophets #– #that his Messiah would suffer.


Now the Scripture passage he was reading was this: He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb is silent before its shearer, so he does not open his mouth.


God presented him as the mercy seat  , by his blood,  through faith, to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his restraint God  passed over the sins previously committed.


He was delivered up for  our trespasses  and raised for our justification.


Now I praise you  because you remember me in everything and hold fast to the traditions  just as I delivered  them to you.


For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you:  On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took bread,


He made the one who did not know sin  to be sin  for us,  so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.


For I did not receive it from a human source and I was not taught it, but it came by a revelation  of Jesus Christ.


who gave himself for our sins  to rescue us from this present evil age,  according to the will of our God and Father.


Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us,  because it is written, Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.   ,


In him we have redemption  through his blood, the forgiveness  of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace


and walk in love, as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us,  a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.


For every high priest taken from among men is appointed in matters pertaining to God for the people, to offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.


Because of this, he must make an offering for his own sins as well as for the people.


They enquired into what time or what circumstances the Spirit of Christ  within them was indicating when he testified in advance  to the sufferings of Christ  and the glories  that would follow.


He himself bore our sins  in his body  on the tree;  so that, having died to sins,  we might live for righteousness.  By his wounds   , you have been healed.


For Christ also suffered  for sins once for all,  the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God.  He was put to death in the flesh  , but made alive by the Spirit,


He himself is the atoning sacrifice  , for our sins, and not only for ours, but also for those of the whole world.


and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness,  the firstborn from the dead  and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has set us free  from our sins by his blood,
