You have said, “I will cause you to prosper, and I will make your offspring like the sand of the sea, too numerous to be counted.” ’


Now Lord   God of Israel, please confirm what you promised to your servant, my father David.


You made your people Israel your own people for ever, and you, Lord, have become their God.


Let your name be confirmed and magnified for ever in the saying, ‘The Lord of Armies, the God of Israel, is God over Israel.’ May the house of your servant David be established before you.


‘Yet the Lord God of Israel chose me out of all my father’s family  to be king over Israel for ever.  For he chose Judah as leader,  and from the house of Judah, my father’s family, and from my father’s sons,  he was pleased to make me king over all Israel.


Lord God, let your promise to my father David now come true.  For you have made me king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth.


in order to establish the oath I swore to your ancestors,  to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is today.” ’ I answered, ‘Amen, Lord.’
