We don't deserve praise! The Lord alone deserves all of the praise, because of his love and faithfulness.


You are famous and praised everywhere on earth, as you win victories with your powerful arm.


Our God, you keep us safe. Now help us! Rescue us. Forgive our sins and bring honor to yourself.


They say, “Let's wipe out the nation of Israel and make sure that no one remembers its name!”


All of them fully agree in their plans against you, and among them are


If you do, the Egyptians will say that you brought your people out here into the mountains just to get rid of them. Please don't be angry with your people. Don't destroy them!


But that would have made me look like a liar, because I had already promised in front of everyone that I would lead them out of Egypt.


Tell my servants, the priests, to cry inside the temple and to offer this prayer near the altar: “Save your people, Lord God! Don't let foreign nations make jokes about us. Don't let them laugh and ask, ‘Where is your God?’ ”


You, my enemies, said, “The Lord God is helpless.” Now each of you will be disgraced and put to shame. I will see you trampled like mud in the street.


Moses replied: With your mighty power you rescued your people from Egypt, so please don't destroy us here in the desert. If you do, the Egyptians will hear about it and tell the people of Canaan. Those Canaanites already know that we are your people, and that we see you face to face. And they have heard how you lead us with a thick cloud during the day and flaming fire at night. But if you kill us, they will claim it was because you weren't powerful enough to lead us into Canaan as you promised.


So Father, bring glory to yourself. A voice from heaven then said, “I have already brought glory to myself, and I will do it again!”


If you destroy your people, the Egyptians will say, “The Lord promised to give Israel land, but he wasn't powerful enough to keep his promise. In fact, he hated them so much that he took them into the desert and killed them.”


The Lord answered: Stop lying there on the ground! Get up!


I don't even know what to say to you, since Israel's army has turned and run from the enemy.


But the Lord has chosen you to be his own people. He will always take care of you so that everyone will know how great he is.
