Then every nation will know that the Lord is the only true God.


Naaman and his officials went back to Elisha. Naaman stood in front of him and announced, “Now I know that the God of Israel is the only God in the whole world. Sir, would you please accept a gift from me?”


When our enemies in the surrounding nations learned that the work was finished, they felt helpless, because they knew that our God had helped us rebuild the wall.


In every province and city where the law was sent, the Jews had parties and celebrated. Many of the people in the provinces accepted the Jewish religion, because they were now afraid of the Jews.


Our Lord, the nations will honor you, and all kings on earth will praise your glory.


I have no more strength than a few drops of water. All my bones are out of joint; my heart is like melted wax.


Make them disappear like leaking water, and make their arrows miss.


Make them realize that you are the Lord Most High, the only ruler of earth!


Nations learned of this and trembled— Philistines shook with horror.


The leaders of Edom and of Moab were terrified. Everyone in Canaan fainted,


All people will be terrified. Hands will grow limp; courage will melt away.


This is a message about Egypt: The Lord comes to Egypt, riding swiftly on a cloud. The people are weak from fear. Their idols tremble as he approaches and says,


They will lose all courage and stumble with fear. My slaughtering sword is waiting at every gate, flashing and ready to kill.


Nineveh is doomed! Destroyed! Her people tremble with fear; their faces turn pale.


We are afraid, because the men who explored the land told us that the cities are large, with walls that reach to the sky. The people who live there are taller and stronger than we are, and some of them are Anakim. We have nowhere to go.”


Finally, if any of you are afraid, you may go home. We don't want you to discourage the other soldiers.


So remember that the Lord is the only true God, whether in the sky above or on the earth below.


The other spies said things that made our people afraid, but I completely trusted the Lord God.


“We're sure the Lord has given us the whole country,” they said. “The people there shake with fear every time they think of us.”


The Amorite kings west of the Jordan River and the Canaanite kings along the Mediterranean Sea lost their courage and their will to fight, when they heard how the Lord had dried up the Jordan River to let Israel go across.
