The understanding of David. A prayer, when he was in the cave.


The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit. He is unwilling to understand, so that he may act well.


Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, for all generations and even forever. Amen. Amen.


The Lord has heard my supplication. The Lord has accepted my prayer.


For he will free the poor from the powerful, and the poor one who has no helper.


He will spare the poor and the indigent, and he will bring salvation to the souls of the poor.


And so, the word of the Lord to them will be: "Command, and command again; command, and command again; expect, and expect again; a little here, and a little there," so that they may go forward and fall backward, and so that they may be broken and ensnared and captured.


Behold, all who fight against you shall be confounded and ashamed. They will be as if they did not exist, and the men who contradict you will perish.


Then, when he said to them, "I am he," they moved back and fell to the ground.
