And in that place, David built an altar to the Lord. And he offered holocausts and peace offerings. And the Lord was gracious to the land, and the plague was held back from Israel.


And they were joyful that it was stilled, and he led them into the haven that they desired.


When they had done this, Moses and Aaron stood up,


Then, too, a fire, going forth from the Lord, put to death the two hundred fifty men who were offering the incense.


When Aaron had done this, and he ran into the midst of the multitude, which the burning fire was now destroying, and he offered the incense.


But the number of those who were struck down was fourteen thousand men, and seven hundred, aside from those who had perished in the sedition of Korah.


Afterwards, Jesus found him in the temple, and he said to him: "Behold, you have been healed. Do not choose to sin further, otherwise something worse may happen to you."


and to the expectation of his Son from heaven (whom he raised up from the dead), Jesus, who has rescued us from the approaching wrath.


Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be saved. For the unremitting prayer of a just person prevails over many things.
