Therefore, his brothers were envious of him. Yet truly, his father considered the matter silently.


Anger holds no mercy, nor does fury when it erupts. And who can bear the assault of one who has been provoked?


Again, I was contemplating all the labors of men. And I took notice that their endeavors are open to the envy of their neighbor. And so, in this, too, there is emptiness and superfluous anxiety.


For he knew that it was out of envy they had handed him over.


Then the chief priests incited the crowd, so that he would release Barabbas to them instead.


But Pilate answered them and said, "Do you want me to release to you the king of the Jews?"


Then the Jews, seeing the crowds, were filled with envy, and they, blaspheming, contradicted the things that were being said by Paul.

Or do you think that Scripture says in vain: "The spirit which lives within you desires unto envy?"


Do not be like Cain, who was of the evil one, and who killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because his own works were wicked, but his brother's works were just.
