My son, offer me your heart, and let your eyes keep to my ways.


My son, fear the Lord, as well as the king. And do not mingle with detractors.


The son honors the father, and the servant his master. If, therefore, I am Father, where is my honor? And if I am Master, where is my fear? says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests, who despise my name. And you have said, "In what way, have we despised your name?"


They said to him, "Caesar's." Then he said to them, "Then render to Caesar what is of Caesar; and to God what is of God."


And hearing this, they wondered. And having left him behind, they went away.


And when the crowds heard this, they wondered at his doctrine.


And no one was able to respond to him a word. And neither did anyone dare, from that day forward, to question him.


And, hearing this, Jesus wondered. And he said to those following him: "Amen I say to you, I have not found so great a faith in Israel.


And they brought it to him. And he said to them, "Whose image and inscription is this?" They said to him, "Caesar's."


And you shall love the Lord your God from your whole heart, and from your whole soul, and from your whole mind, and from your whole strength. This is the first commandment.'


And so, he said to them: "Then repay the things that are Caesar's, to Caesar, and the things that are God's, to God."


And so, I beg you, brothers, by the mercy of God, that you offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, with the subservience of your mind.


Therefore, render to all whatever is owed. Taxes, to whom taxes is due; revenue, to whom revenue is due; fear, to whom fear is due; honor, to whom honor is due.


Nor should you offer the parts of your body as instruments of iniquity for sin. Instead, offer yourselves to God, as if you were living after death, and offer the parts of your body as instruments of justice for God.


Honor everyone. Love brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
